Situated between Nepal & Bhutan and bordered by Darjeeling West Bengal in the South, rich in history Sikkim’s first king was crowned in 1642 and was called the “Chogyal”, religious king. His direct linage the Namgyals ruled the small country till 1975 when Sikkim became part of India. Religion is a pervasive force and colorful Buddhist monasteries are to be found all over the state. Sikkim is a trekker’s paradise. It has been blessed with an unspoiled nature, geographical conditions and variety of flora and fauna that offers a lot for lovers of adventure tourism. Mt. Kanchendzonga, Guardian deity of Sikkim and the third highest mountain in the world revered and worshipped by the local people provides one of the most beautiful and spell bounding background.

Nearest airport is Bagdogra, 124 kms 4-5 hours drive. Bagdogra is connected by flight linking Kolkata, Guwahati, New Delhi, Bhutan and Bangkok
From Nepal the nearest airport is Bhadrapur 174 kms 6-7 hrs drive.

Closest railway station is New Jalpaiguri railway station, Trains are connected from New Delhi, Kolkata and Gauhati. National Highway (NH 31A) connects Sikkim with Siliguri, Jaigaon (Phuntsolling) bordering Bhutan and Kakarvita in Nepal border and other important cities in India like kolkata. Sikkim is well connected by all season motorable roads.

In addition to Indian Visa, foreign nationals must obtain Inner line permit (ILP) to visit Sikkim. The permits can be obtained from all Indian missions /Embassies/ Consulates. Sikkim Tourism Office – New Delhi, Kolkata and Sikkim Tourism Office – Siliguri, Rangpo and Melli checkpoint. If you have not obtain ILP, from the Indian consulates or embassies from your country of origin, never mind you can get the same at free of cost at our Rangpo entry check points, for which you have to have a copy of your passport, Indian visa copy and your passport size photo, the process will take only 10mints, and the service is 24 x 7 days.
